5 October 2022: World Bank Event "Putting Teachers at the Center: Celebrating World Teachers’ Day 2022"

On 5 October 2022 at 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM EDT (16:00 – 17:30 CEST/ Geneva), the World Bank will hold an online event to celebrate World Teachers’ Day. The 90-minute panel, “Putting Teachers at the Center: Celebrating World Teachers’ Day 2022” will celebrate the importance of teachers and discuss how to best support teacher well-being during this critical time of recovering and building back better education systems.

Since its inception by UNESCO in 1994, World Teachers’ Day has been celebrated every year, praising the dedication and support offered by teachers around the world. This year’s theme is “The Transformation of Education Begins with Teachers”, highlighting the key role that teachers play in shaping and optimizing educational practices.

5 October 2022: Education International event “World Teachers’ Day – The Transformation of Education Begins with Teachers”

Also on World Teachers’ Day 2022, Education International’s General Secretary David Edwards will bring together the voice of teachers everywhere at the opening ceremony of the World Teachers’ Day event hosted by UNESCO in Paris. The event will begin on 5 October 2022 at 10:00 AM (CEST / Paris). Co-convened by Education International, UNESCO, the International Labour Organization, and UNICEF, World Teachers’ Day 2022 aims to highlight the work of teachers and call on governments to invest in teachers, involve teachers, trust and respect teachers.
