KIX Research Update – MICS-EAGLE report on the analysis of education for children with disabilities in Asia and the Pacific

A new report from KIX research project MICS-EAGLE, led by UNICEF, entitled “In Pursuit of Education for All: Analysis of education for children with disabilities in selected countries in Asia and the Pacific” uses data from the sixth round of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (2017-2021) from 11 countries and 2 territories to provide insights on education for children with disabilities. The report covers Bangladesh, Kiribati, Kyrgyz Republic, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan (Punjab), Pakistan (Sindh), Samoa, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, and Viet Nam. The findings highlight the need for a two-pronged approach to provide education for children with disabilities: first, to reduce barriers to entry to school, and second, to reduce barriers to progression through education.
