Launch of “Changemakers: Stories of young human rights educators”

Since 2021, OHCHR, Amnesty International and Soka Gakkai International have been developing the documentary Changemakers: Stories of young human rights educators. The film documents stories of seven young human rights educators from around the world and showcases how human rights and human rights education have changed young people’s lives, inspiring them to take action for human rights in their communities through human rights education.

 

To launch the documentary, they are organising two events in Geneva on 11 and 12 December.

Monday 11 December

Side Event – HUMAN RIGHTS 75: YOUTH DIALOGUE: Amplifying the HR75 initiative among young people.

Room XVII – Palais des Nations, Geneva

Launching of the documentary Changemakers: Stories of young human rights educators” during the event.

Tuesday 12 December

Documentary screening public event

Changemakers: Stories of young human rights educators

Auditorium Arditi – Av. du Mail 1, Genève

Screening event and a conversation with the Young Human Rights Educator, event organised by Amnesty International, OHCHR and SGI.

Followed by a reception.

The events aims are:

● To launch the documentary “Changemakers: Stories of young human rights educators” as an advocacy tool for human rights education for, with and by youth;

● To raise awareness and highlight the importance of human rights education, particularly for youth, with youth and by youth;

● To provide a space for dialogue among young people on human rights education as a tool to promote their and others’ human rights;

● To inspire young people to take action to promote and protect human rights.
